Fortunately the post war economic warfare was not as brutal as the Iraq conflict where 500,000 children died as an indirect result of western economic sanctions to delay post-war development and rectification.

The use of chemical weapons in Syria brought about great controversy and complexity in the intelligence decisions either ignored, or used at the forefront to identify a pretext for a potential US military intervention in Syria. The pretext initially seemed to identify the Assad Regime as the perpetrators, but soon shifted to Islamic insurgency groups or Al Qaeda affiliates. The culpability of the attack was inhumane.

Western media warfare came into a considerable effect during the Syrian civil war where it reinforced the war crimes of the Assad Regime. However it later came to surface the reciprocating crimes from the FSA forces in Syria- being confirmed by British journalists interviewing survivors of village massacres.
