I cannot get over Violet's inability to defer to anyone else is incredibly grating. I hope it gets better but I have an error feeling it will be just the opposite.

While I like Yarros's writing style a great deal, man Xaden and his lines are so cringe. I'm far more interested in what's going on with Violet and Halden than their (V&X's) weird, kinda toxic relationship. Also there are so many NAMES here. Even with a recap remembering everything and everyone is insane. Also-- Violet and Xaden are some of the most perpetually down bad characters ever and, imo I find it kinda yikes.
