is it rlly necessary to go this in-depth abt beauty’s parents? i would’ve appreciated it if we got more scenes of belle and the beast instead, just bc this lengthy background story doesn’t rlly add that much to belle’s character (only that her mom was a fairy and that she was targeted for murder and so was unknowingly adopted by the merchant)

not the wicked fairy getting rejected by two attractive men 💀💀

also: Belle’s mom was a fairy?? and her parents had a forbidden love story?? i am absolutely eating this up!!

first time (voluntarily) reading a classic book! i thought i would start with this one bc i was always intrigued by the beauty and the beast story and have always been curious abt the original plot ✨
