So there are times when a character says something and then the other character spends like 3 pages thinking about what that character just said and I understand the author wants to convey how much the character cares about them or their personality traits but it happens so often that it starts to bore me and make me question if it’s necessary or if it could have been summarized.

It’s crazy how I’ve read 300 pages and nothing has happened. Not even hand holding or a confession between them. I’m all for mutual pining trope and I like a slow burn but my brain is melting with how painfully slow it’s been
