I am reading this book seesawing from loving it to feeling slightly indifferent. There are parts I do really like - Kidan as the MC is an anti-heroine, but I really enjoy this characterisation (makes a nice change from the kind but strong FMC archetype that washes over fantasy as a genre nowadays), but I could stake Susenyos myself he is so awful! I know, enemies to loves, but still. He needs a good slap.

I have never known a truer definition of 'love to hate' than I do with this book. One moment I'm loving it, the next I hate it, but I'm now desperate to see how it ends regardless. There is something about Kidan that I can't place my finger on - she feels special in some specific way. Why did she feel J.K. die? We shall see if it comes out in this book or not.
