aaron we need rest to alchemise trauma, the systemic theft of restorative rest, this deliberate and disproportionately gendered and racialised fragmentation from rest is ‘not just life-altering [but] life-threatening’ — Muir potently presents the police murder of Breonna Taylor where plain clothes officers forced entry to her home while she slept and executed her. Black lives become bodies regarded as loitering, arrestable, deviant, unworthy of life.
