i will not DNF(as they say if you don’t DNF you get more rights to be a hater), but i had too much high hopes for this. IMHO a good writer can make any theme and topic classy and enjoyable. but this book has invoked two of my pet peeves in this regard: writing in a way that gives the “duh this was written by a white author” and the “i’m gonna rush certain plot points and well develop others.”
