so far i have a big problem with the exposition in this book. a lot of information about the reality in which the action takes place is given during the dialogues, which makes the way the characters speak less realistic, and the reader feels as if they are not being taken seriously. most of the cultural and historical aspects covered in this novel are familar to me, as i'm studying spanish philology

i understand that some context had to be added to make the story more accesible to those not interested in spanish history, but i think this could have been done more subtly, or simply by adding footnotes. anyway, hopefully this will change in the rest of the book
