“Rage” complete. 3.5*. Raw horror, no monsters or twists. King’s first written book (I believe written when he was 16). Stockholm syndrome (albeit a little too unrealistic), wonderful insight through backstories on how the main character got to where he was. I couldn’t put it down, I want to look for more psychological books now.

I love this story but I haven’t read it in a long time. I think about it regularly though.

The main thing holding it back from a 4 star for me was just its repetitiveness. They walk, main character starts thinking back to past life events, gun shots bring him back to reality, repeat 6 times. Still a cool adventure of sorts.
