truly depressing how much chapter 4 (the 1982 invasion of lebanon) mirrors the present

i think it is really interesting the parallel Khalidi builds between Zionist successful diplomacy with American and British officials versus unsuccessful Palestinian diplomacy with Arab leaders due to their limited diplomatic independence from imperial powers (something in no ways prescient to the present)
