a deceptively simple novel. can we talk about the nuclear war parallels? can we talk about pearl and her purity/femininity being tied to this constant fear by the narrator for her safety? and her [REDACTED] occurring during a male rutting season? the omnipresent shadow of male violence, esp of a sexual nature?

im really liking it so far!! i feel this wont be a popular book, its very "all vibes no plot," but idc!!!
