So far I’ve heard complaining, whining, and a protagonist that must be very lucky, because she is definitely not smart. Actually she seems to be constantly overwhelmed and dense. Given the premise of the book, being overwhelmed is certainly understandable, but being as dense as she is just adds to the cringy, eye-roll moments. Still reading so I hope it gets better.

I promise it gets so much better. I'm currently reading book 14(?) and the writing improves, the characters improve, and the world building becomes outstanding!

I meant to say, if you can through to the end of the first book, then decide. If you still aren't jiving that's fair. Books aren't for everyone. But give it to the end of the first book.
