Starting to get to the climax of the book now, all the stories are coming to a head with Shallan getting found out having stolen the soalcaster. Kaladin and bridge 4 are starting to become a real force and they’re training up to be able to escape the bridge crews. Dalinar has been presumed not guilty of the attempt on the king’s life but they still think it could be an assassination attempt

Flashback chapter with kaladin, he is trying to save a little girl from bleeding to death, he fails but his father comforts him and tells him he has to figure out when to care and when not to

Dalinar was having a vision, he was a guy called Heb and he was protecting Heb’s wife and daughter from some dark monsters. Then one of the knights radiant came in and told Dalinar the date and where they were, Dalinar then put together that it was a long time ago. Then the entity giving the visions speaks through the wife and tells Dalinar again to “unite them”.

Kaladin is trying to unite his bridge crew but they are still ignoring him, they go on another bridge run and kaladin volunteers to go at the front as bridge leader. After they lay down the final bridge kaladin starts treating the wounded members of bridge four and bribes Gaz to let them take the wounded back

Flashback chapter with Kaladin, we see his brother Tien and his friend Laral. He is explaining to Laral why he has to go to kabranth to be a surgeon and why he can’t be a soldier like he wanted to. He gets into a fight with Jost who is a farmer about Kaladin’s age.

Chapter with Dalinar and Adolin after the battle, making plans for what’s next, elhokar still paranoid about a possible assassination. Dalinar is trying to figure out what his brothers last words mean by looking in the book called the way of kings
