Some of the organization of the sections was giving me pause but the sections on Plessy v Ferguson with Harlan’s dissent and the segregation of Berea College made me tear up. God. Miserable to remember that society does not naturally move in a progressive direction and can actually very easily be reactive and punishing of those who desire positive change.
