Fifty pages in the same day I finished Philip Roth’s The Human Stain and I’m realizing I have no desire to keep reading this smug, overstuffed thing. I’ll finish it but god it better get interesting fast. Polished sentences aren’t enough on their own and compared to Roth they aren’t even that polished.
