Well, starting off "strong" with footnotes! I HATE footnotes. Why do authors use footnotes at all? It interrupts the flow of the story. Whenever authors use footnotes, it just comes across as lazy to me. Seriously, the author couldn't think of a way to just put the information in any other way? To immerse it into the story telling, it just breaks my immersion and irritates me to no end.

I don't even know what to say. What a boring book. It had so much promise and potential. I even read this author's 10,000 Doors of January and hated that book. I don't know WHY I gave this one a try. Maybe because again the premise sounded so good and because I got the book from Owlcrate....but needless to say...I hated this book. This is definitely not an author I will recommend or want to read from again.

I do not know how to feel about this book. Some of the things that the main character says is really pissing me off.
It is also weird that Arthur went from telling Opal to "run" to "you want to work here?" All because he saw her red hair???? Isn't there more girls with red hair?? Better be a good reason for this massive change in behavior.
