Imagine this: you're in athens, the city's prospering giving birth to democracy, you're a philosopher and you're philosophizing in the agora when some random dude (who's unfortunately the book's protagonist) comes up to you and throws a turnip at your head shouting "OI DICKHEAD"
I'm pretty sure Jesus Christ didn't suffer half as much as I did while reading this book.

i can't believe i had to read the words "persian dandy" not only once, but TWICE

(i won't say anything more about the plot and the setting until the end of the book but the writing?? i don't like it AT ALL.)

See, when people write books about ancient greece it kinda gets personal. I'm trying not to be too judgemental about these things, but the setting isn't making any sense?? Why is everything so vague??

this comment might be a little premature since i'm only 8% into the book, but i don't think the first person pov goes along well with pulley's writing style (?)
