Are the Scriptural descriptions of Hell literal or figurative? I tend to lean towards the latter, with the belief that the biggest concern for us about Hell is simply that God isn't there. Yet Sproul makes a compelling point that the omnipotent God IS there, causing more distress for those on Hell because His benefits and grace are no longer there like they are on Earth, for even those who suffer greatly on Earth.
