The writing is so good that it makes me angry how aggressively melodramatic the content is. I read one review that called this a "gothic melodrama." That is exactly what this is, a modern gothic melodrama.

Reads like a hurt/comfort fanfic with over the top melodrama and a martyr protagonist. But with really fucking good prose.
