I learned what the town they lived in looked like and could better understand the timeline because I found out that it was based in the 1980-1990's.
The way Kambili, Jaja and their mother are treated by their father is so insane to me because they get beat for no reason, in the book it says, "He unbuckled his belt slowly. It landed on Jaja first, across his shoulder. Then mama on her upper arm" (Adichie 102).

The character I disagree with the most often is the Father of Kambili and Jaja. He thinks that his religion should be the inly religion and if the kids or the mom don't do what he says he abuses them for doing wrong on there religion. He is influenced by religion which is what I don't agree with because he is not open-minded about other religions and beats his family so thats why i don't agree with him.
