This is hailed as a "return to form" by many fans of the series and I am disappointed to say that the first 330 pages of the book is just as sloggy as the previous three or so books and that it remains riddled with Jordan's worst inclinations as a writer. I feel like Jordan is an able writer, maybe even great at times but instead of using his powers for good he uses them for a very tedious form of evil.
