I remember reading this when I was 13 in my freshman honors English, feeling like my world was rocked. I’d never read something like it at the time and it’s been a book that’s truly sat with me.

As a 30 year old with more life experience and knowledge, I’lI be re-reading this with a new set of eyes.

My version with an intro by Téa Obreht (from 2020) makes this book feel even more foreboding.
