I love this characterization of Joan and the way she views religion and holiness so far is very intriguing. I feel like the author is building up a lot of lessons for her and the reader to go through.

Two chapters in and I‘m already blow away by the storytelling of this one. The book feels extremely quiet and introverted so far with Joan as a main character who has lots of things to tell but is in a way trapped by her surroundings. The author paints a stunningly tragic picture of life in the village of Domremy.
