So I picked this book up as a discard from the MGL shelves one day. I took it to save some poor unsuspecting person from reading it unironically and being converted to cringe. So now I’ve decided I’m going to read it ironically.
A few pages in and the author (an Anglican bishop) is already offended by the fact that we call God “Father Almighty”. A stunning and brave start.

This is still pretty funny. The good Bishop is of the opinion that the discovery of the egg cell disproves the virgin birth, and that St Paul was an adoptionist. And also that we only started saying Mary was sinless in the 19th century once that egg cell was discovered (which would certainly be news to the medieval scholastics). Interesting points.
