I got this book on a whim. It sounded good, but I wasn't sure if I'd like it. So far, so good. We'll see what happens next.

I don't know why I just noticed this, but Steven talks about him and Sarah's mom in the present tense. I get that just because a person's dead doesn't mean you have to talk about them like that, but it's still strange to read Steven's lines. It's kind of confusing, but I've gotten used to it.

I can understand why Sarah hates David's offer of help. I don't like being helped with certain things, either. On the one hand, it's hard for her so she kind of needs it. But she should also realize he isn't going to stop bothering her and the kindest thing to do would be to just let him in so he can ease off a little.

I love David's evolving friendship with Steven. It's even better than his romance with Sarah. I wish they had chosen to bond over something other than sports, but at least they're getting along. It's refreshing to see after the drama between Sarah and her dad.
