The journalistic stories are interesting and well-told, and the general information given, such as it is, is enlightening. However, the book is light on the statistics that would give a better sense of the problem's scope and the scale of possible solutions, and the author seems frustratingly reluctant to suggest that moving towards a solution must entail living within our ecological means.
