Read the introductory section of the book: history of bento, ritual, the 5 colours and elements. Basically the cultural context and nutritional dynamics. Also read the base recipes: rice, dry and liquid seasonings. This week I am going to make a breakfast bento and a 15-minute bento. I’ll slowly work my way through the recipes!
