Were you reading that when you were here? I saw it on the steps at one point. I love Kingsolver. She lives down in Tucson, I believe.

I was reading it on that trip! What I was reading was hardcover & I didn’t want to lug it around so I started this. I’ve always liked Kingsolver books but haven’t read one in a while. I’d heard people stopped reading it bc it was so sad but that’s not me. I appreciate her viewpoint & the light she is shining on the struggles of addiction & fostering so far.

And hopelessness - hopelessness is the real struggle.

I haven’t read this one yet, but have numerous friends who’ve said it’s excellent. I’ll get to it.

Add it to the list but have a cheerier one on hand for times when you need a break. 😍

Right now I’m reading The Tempest WHILE watching (and pausing) Helen Miran’s amazing performance as Prospero. I have $150 credit at Bookmans here in town, so I’ll pick up Kingsolver next time I’m at the book trader. 😊
