Miss thing did not just mention Persona.. did we do even a little bit of research or did we google the year for the games and go “yeah this works perfectly” this is set in 1999 and Persona 1 was not widely known or popular in America can we be so for real.

I must confess I find it very hard to suspend my belief for the way the author describes these games and in the time period they are set. As a video game fan a lot of what she’s describing does not work for the time period. It ruins the novel for me a bit.

I fear the dialog is getting worse….

This is.. so strange.. for the type of scene it’s supposed to be.

Gonna have to ding the author a bit for her inaccurate time period references. But that’s only because I’m an animation nerd. The dub for Princess Mononoke wasn’t available until 1999 making the likelihood of them seeing it slim.
