The introduction is of the usual Xian unctuousness. Athenagoras himself is a philosopher turned Xian. He makes a nice distinction between spirit and matter and gives an understandable explanation of Christ being in effect the logos of god from which the creation of the material universe ensued but not why Christ would then need to be intruded in it.
