Alec's speech could apply to many marginalised groups, not just Jewish people, I'm sure, but my God it also fits the trans experience to a T. It's been a while since I felt so seen in a book not by a fellow trans person.

I know Catherine wants to protect David, but I'm so angry at her wanting to just cut off part of his identity. Furious.

Alec's speech here about being Jewish in England is amazing. I can't know, but I feel it applies to, say, black, or Asian, people, too. Certainly parts of it apply to being queer and trans.
