These last 100 pages have arguably been the best in the entire book. Right now its probably just back up at a very low 4. Could easily drop down to a 3 tho and that could be quite likely. If I lock in tomorrow I should get it finished, as page wise it is slightly less than listed on here as the pages are much bigger.

This book thrives on its side characters. When I thought it was down and out for a 3 it introduces an obese trickster cat who can see the future and wears a sleeveless vest. Jelmay mate you might just save this book yet. Goes without saying he's very funny. Female side character Kudzu is also really great. Best 50 pages so far.

Progressing quite nicely. Should have it finished this next week for sure. I'm honestly just enjoying seeing all of the different yokai and the fights are done decently. The powers/abilities are definitely the most interesting thing.

One of the reviews said this was quite episodic and while I do agree I'm still having a great time with it. It's very formulaic at the moment but I came in expecting a cool story with Japanese monsters and that's what I'm getting.

Prose has been a bit poor in places lately, sat at a lower 4 rn, still really enjoying it but it could slip into the relegation battle if its not careful.

Progressing nicely. Still just super fun and enjoyable. A chicken that can breath fire and create thunder when it flaps its wings 😭🤣.

Like a john wick movie, the dialogue is often a bit clunky and hardly Shakespeare but I love that were just seeing random demons pop out of urns 😭. Also love Sarnai and Kamdos relationship, both are good side characters so far. Prose can be a little clunky but only rarely. Definitely still a strong 4 so far.
