What are ADRs? ADRs are short documents (with a target length of about two pages’ worth of text, not counting diagrams or recorded advice, hence the reason why many people refer to them as “lightweight ADRs”) that tend to follow a typical for‐ mat. Each ADR records a single architectural decision that has been taken, along with appropriate supporting information.

Anything less than a full commitment to decentralization will make your life harder, not easier. In fact, with distribution or partial decentralization, you need to be much more aware of where control is needed so that you can focus on it and protect it but also minimize it, allowing elements that can be allowed to change independently to do so.
