I need a break this is depressing as shit

The author is really annoying me. Half of the time she's written out Nan's story verbatim to how she told it to her and then she has to interject herself to explain things to the reader and she comes off pretentious and like she's trying to show off how smart she is. Like I don't care? I want to read about Nan not your boring ass.
