'from one-year-olds to ton-year-olds'. Ton-year-old. It's not even a number it's a unit of measurement.

Parkers don't have any personality. They find Ryan being hurt indicative of him needing to see a shrink but the idea he wants to isolate genes in a weird fish to make super humans, that's perfectly fine and normal.

Fish facts still there but they no longer relate to the story and some facts aren't fish facts but general.

How bizarre. An 8 year old boy is sleeping in the same bed as his parents?

I've now realised I have no idea what country this is set in. There has been no indication at all.

The English which was well formed has now all but gone and the book is becoming hard to follow. This book is in need of a good editor.

I don't like the Parkers. Their sexist and unpleasant. Ryan is pretty sexist too. Not the first sexist reference in the text either. Very old fashioned in the way it has been written.

it skips an awful lots of detail needed to make sense of the fish leaving the sea and all that has come after that including how nasty Marjella is. She even took Ryans bed. She is meant to do good. Instead she is a right bitch.

I had to google the word 'tonsured' and found it doesn't seem to have any place in this text. It's a reference to part of the head being shaved as a symbol of faith, medieval Catholics apparently. So what the heck and why is Ryans head like this?

So Merjella has become cruel and nasty and inflicted great pain and suffering and torture to get what she wanted. She also sampled fish and neither her companion nor her seemed phased that God wasn't real or that he was cooking and killing the fish that go into the trap. This book has gone from great to totally lost the plot. The characters are about as solid as jelly!

Just like that I'm lost. No details, and it's skipped a lot. A little let down and confused at this point.

The English went astray a little but it's still an amazing book

Marine biology meets fantasy. Brilliant.

I think the book cover shown here is very different from the one I have. I like my one better. So chapter 1 I really enjoyed. Scientific terms abound. Diurnal, yup I'll enjoy this book!
