I think he was a kind of dummy with women, and the women of that time in which were much more smarter than nowadays' women. He might get lay as he claimed in the book with many, and many prostitutes of all backgrounds. These should be the focus of all those memories, sometimes difficult to follow because he doesn't write in standart mode. He uses too many details to tell small adventures (boyish action)

Many times he describes some action. Good thou. The description between people how they connected seems to me a better archive of a times than the good adventures he had had. The women are so awful uncool, most of them, as he put many times, the white ones.

He writes beautifully about nothing, almost. He is good to talk about badly about US, and reading his perpective, I see the world changed little.

that's nice when he tells cases with old pals, and when comes with the opium/heroin subject, but soon he again start to make a a glossary of an inexistent discipline.

There's so many stories that this guy should be richer with his atempts not poorer.

Much of the talk of magic remind of people in my university time that was too dummy to science. But they way he was envold and try to envold us all was scientific. He also mentioned that the earth is getting warmer and warmed by scientific conclusions and data. Things people just start to adress in the 80s.
