i hate this thing. this is like waiting at the dmv, watching the clock tick by, minute by minute. when will i be done? when can i move on? i’m so close to being done with this stupid, terrible, slogging book, so i can’t give up now. but i hate it so much.

yeah this is still so hard to get through. i have to make sure im doing something that also involves my brain - cooking, cross stitching, sewing a complex garment - so i dont go absolutely insane at the minute details of the narrator’ observations.

it’s like reading the slowest adventure novel that is interspersed with the minutiae that only a hyperfixated scientist could possibly care about. i have zoned out so many times and missed nothing regarding the plot because the narrator was waxing poetic about some seaweed.
