I like the writing style a lot, but I cannot gel with any of the characters! I think this is deliberate in the writing, hence why I like it so much! But a lack of empathy for the main characters is making it a little harder to find a flow.

Really strong start. Starting to get into the rhythm of El-Arifi’s writing by and world building. Nice book to follow up finishing the Crescent City series!
