okay pros:
- very nyc book, lots of references to specific nyc
- dealt with complex themes, including gentrification, familial trauma, ambition vs doing what’s right
- characters were well fleshed out

there was one con but it feels major enough to bring this down to 3 stars and unfortunately it felt like the book was like 75% exposition. a lot of setup for what was ultimately not the largest of payoffs
