Finished the Introduction and Chapter 1, and find it generally interesting. However, it needs more explanation of why protectionism serves empire (and the opportunity costs of such policies), and for some reason Palen omitted the one woman co-founder of the American Economic Association (Katharine Corman) in his list of founders.
