I can see why people get into why choose. I feel like my updates make this seem like strictly a romance novel. It’s more about overthrowing a tyrannical government and undoing the lies they’ve spread. But definitely there is some tension between characters. Hannah Whitten doesn’t do spice, just nice little romantic entanglements so I need to check myself.

I hope the story centers more around Bastian and Lore. I can see a love triangle happening. Big fan of the toxic entanglement of church and the reining sovereign. Feels like there’s manipulation afoot. Like maybe the “Blessed” family really isn’t so blessed. And somehow twisted history to make others believe there could be no other ruling family. This book is political/religious rulers V. Everyone else.
