During this portion of the book the author talks about the uses of medicenal plants that are native to mexico and new mexico. During this partiuclar section of the book it goes into detail about the uses of soap berry and disribes its destinctive fetures and tipical growing habat along with its uses for medicine and gives a bref history about how native amaricans used it.

During this part of the book it disscuses the use of native plants and herbs for natural remedies that came from native amican cultures. In particular the most resent passage disscused the medisinal use of sage and the diffrent strains of sage. Along with the the medical aplications it has.

During the first chapter of the book the author starts by giving the historical context of the information. Then starts explaining how diffrent herbs were usided historicaly and what kind of habitat they resided in and how it can be treated for diffrent alments.
