“I’ve been meaning to ask you: do you want to come with me?”. Maybe it’s the beer grasping its hold as I sit on this cold concrete bench in Coimbra - but the sentence felt like everything around me fell to the floor. Not loudly but with such suddenness I had to glance around to make sure the world was the same as before. So much build-up to a clear gesture of companionship.
