In Christchurch now going to Wellington in the morning. So far NZ is one of the 3 most beautiful countries I have visited so I'm looking forward to the long ferry ride. What is there to do in Wellington apart from the museum and (later) Rotorua where might we find Maori stuff.Ever since I was a little girl in Wales and the All Blacks came to play rugby they've really intrigued me. Thanks for all the help on Melbourne.

So happy for you, Petra! I've heard that NZ is amazing. Which are the other two countries that are in your top 3?

If you could get to Lake Taupo, there is an immense Maori Rock Art Carving, only visible from the water. Have a look on Google maps, north end of the lake.

We will stay for a couple of days as I want to see the glass sculpture garden (I used to be a glass artist), and will definitely look for the Rock Art. Got any other recommendations?
Spent 10 days on the South island and loved it!!! Glad you are seeing and exploring this beautiful country!

Got any recommendations, especially of Maori experiences that are part of huge (2-300 people) tourist groups?
Beautiful country indeed, loved visiting there and met my wife on a trek there 38 years ago. Magical, enjoy Petra.
