Have you read the Paying Guests yet? I really enjoyed that one.

Unfortunately I hated this book, couldn't believe it was written by Sarah Waters...
owww, well so far I don't hate it
it really does divide opinion I see.... well, 200 pages to go, so I will soon find out if the spooky-ookums which has been bubbling away in the background will make my spine deliquesce or make me guffaw in disbelieving laughter. I'm not that predisposed towards the other world.
Somehow, the spooky-ookums' being set against the post-War changes in British social structures worked brilliantly, IMO. I liked it as much for its portrait of Britain at that crucial moment as for the story itself.
Interesting! I on the other hand did not find anything spooky and the plot was not appealing to me, but I did love the post war changes part. (Don't want to influence your reading anymore, waiting to find out your review :))
