Lots of really fascinating and meaningful bits, diluted by overlong, over detailed and repetitive text. I am not sure I get the point, if there even is one,

It seems to be going somewhere, slowly. Way too much detail and analysts, too little interpretation and synthesis. Slipping large chunks to see what the point is, in the end.
