I’m continually struck at Hanya‘s ability to embed imagery throughout their story. Their ability to seamlessly transition from past to present is very remarkable. Very memorable characters. I think if any other author tried to tackle this story, it would come off as exploitative. However, Hanya manages to represent Jude‘s trauma with respect, without teetering into exploitation.
