What I failed to mention in my last entry was the scope of nature and environmentalism. It’s really the crux of a lot of the passages and it displays a kind of deep hurt I don’t think I’ve ever felt.

As I grapple with this book, I grow both more and less fond of green ideals. There are poems that still challenge me, and ones I’ve found are easier. Still rough to open and read however. Still a worthy read too.

The more I read, the closer I get to being able to see what the author intends. After my first read I might read it again to use what’s I’ve learned to see, to look closer this time.

Still difficult to parse, but ultimately a great endeavor. I keep losing track of self when reading these poems, which cause my usually clear vision of the text to become obfuscated. Only through rereads can I grasp again what I’m supposed to be seeing from the words alone.

I think I’m having a hard time getting any of these poems. Not that I don’t understand the intent, but I am wondering if I’m fully digesting it, or if I can’t relate.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that asks so much of me to read. Multiple times I e had yo reread the passages to understand what was in front of me, but it is wonderful so far! It’s so full of things that are hard to perceive if you haven’t been to the greater north. I haven’t found something that I fully resonate with but I look forward to finding it.
