Jayson
Jayson is starting

Notes:
(1) I don't really read Green Lantern in general, since in order to fully appreciate it you have to start all the way back at "Green Lantern: Rebirth."
- I'm reading this simply because I don't know a thing about these two characters outside of Jessica's debut in "Darkseid War."
- Also, this is separate enough that the decade-plus of required reading isn't necessary.

Notes:
(1) Jessica's sister is named Sara. Simon's sister is named Sira.
- This is needlessly confusing!
(2) I understand this is a buddy-cop series, and therefore involves a lot of buddy-cop humor, but how am I supposed to take this alien threat seriously if the characters are constantly quipping?
(3) Must Jessica and Simon introduce themselves at the start of EVERY issue?

Notes:
(1) Only a few issues in and we already have several issues featuring multiple artistic teams.
- It doesn't exactly bode well for the series.
- Clearly, deadlines weren't met and it's an unfortunate sign that getting it done on time is more important than getting it done right.
(2) Humphries just loves long and emotive inner monologues.
- The problem is that I don't.

Notes:
(1) It's interesting to compare the Rebirth issue, co-written with Johns, and issue #1, which is just Humphries.
- You get the sense that Humphries is starting off trying to re-invent the wheel. The new "Emerald Sight" power Simon has and the new "most powerful ring ... ever created" is a lot of hyperbole.
- Whereas, Johns knows to ground things in familiarity first.
