It’s been a long time since I last read this book (AHS folks, grade 9??); but this Orwell quote from the beginning “Every line of serious work I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it.” is even more relevant now than it was back then

I’m a big Orwell fan. His essays are particularly good if you ever get around to them.
